Eating sur stromming in Sweden. It's old fish they allow to rot for several months then they cure it in lye to kill any dangerous bacteria. Then they wash it off and put it in cans. When you open the can the smell is so bad and so powerful that you have to open all the windows. Even then I thought I was going to pass out from the smell, my face got all red and my eyes stung. Finally I was able to calm down enough to take a bite (actually it tasted a helluva lot better than it smelled) and then washed it down with this kind of Swedish moonshine whiskey they drink (that's what my Yahoo! ID is - braennvin.)

This is not strange, really, but was unusual for me. I went to an Ashura service at a liberal mosque in Oakland.

Also once went to a church service where someone spoke in tongues and did healing.

I once participated in Holy Communion.

Then I realized that what I was doing was cannibalism.

That is a weird custom.

I went to an exorcism once, and it was one of the wildest things I've ever been involved in.

I went to a church, where we were given food and drink and told it was part of a guy who was thousands of years old! It was a lot of fun!
