What are some cool christmas and new year holiday traditions?

I'm not religious, or interested in finding religion. But I love traditions, and I'd like some ideas for starting some of my own.

Spend part of the day at a shelter feeding the homeless or visiting someone in a nursing home that has no family to visit them. It will make you appreciate what you have and give you a good feeling for helping someone in need.☼

Ever since i was a child my two sisters and I would slide down our stairs on our sleeping bags on Christmas Day; we still do it! I am 21 and my sisters are 22 and 23. It's so much fun!
