- England (not sure it's called "Britain"; you'll see what I mean later) is just the country.
- Great Britain is: England + Wales + Scotland
- The United Kingdom is: Great Britain + Northern Ireland

What people call "Britain" is actually "Great Britain". But, sometimes, when people say "Britain", they mean "the UK". It's good to know and, even if it's not the proper term, I think that, most of the time, it doesn't really make a difference.

And, if you want to know:
The British Isles is: the UK + The Republic of Ireland + the Isle of Man (sometimes, the Channel Islands are considered part of the British Isles)

But a lot of people get confused.

People use the two terms to mean the same thing in everyday usage, BUT:

"UK" (or "the United Kingdom") is short for "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland." It includes Great Britain, which is the island that encompasses England, Scotland, and Wales. It also includes Northern Ireland (the northern part of the island on which the nation of Ireland is situated).

In addition, the United Kingdom is commonly used to refer to the various independent nations around the world that are former British colonies and still have an allegiance to the United Kingdom (and a loyalty to the queen). These include Canada, Australia, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and South Africa, among others.

there is no difference between the UK and Britain. They're the same place. it's just that United Kingdom is the official name of the country, Britain.

just as the official name of Spain is Kingdom of Spain.
