She is in desperate need of counseling. You are not equipped to help her. You can be swallowed by her needs. I suggest that you tell a school counselor, teacher or other adult. If you are close to her parents then go that route. Just don't do nothing! Tell her to do the same. She has to know that her whole world is not ending, even if it seems so!
Cutting is a form of control. She needs to see that we are not in control of everything. This is only temporary, with counseling and treatment, she will find a way out of her current mindset. She might even find a web sit to help her!
Does she have a youth pastor or youth group? If not, do you? Remember you can not do this all for her. Remember she has to want to get help. If anything tragic happens keep in mind that you tried, even just asking like this.

Explain to her that to waste another minute on the *** who totally left her would be giving into him and all the B.S he probably put her through.
Tell he that there are so many fish in the Sea that soon someone will come along and finally treat her right.
If she decides to keep cutting herself or worse suiside she would never meet this special person..

tell her how much you care about her and that you dont want her to do something that she would regret. tell her you like her better when shes happy and that breaking up with her boyfriend is not the end of the world. encourage her to get out and date again to show her there are other guys. help her make new friends. and make sure she knows that she really means alot to you and it hurts you to see her like that. also tell her that if she wants to talk you will be there. AND MOST OF ALL BE A REALLY GOOD FRIEND.
if all that doesnt work get her to therepy or tell her parents or somethign

Intervention: Do you know her parents?
Any Counselors at school?
Tell her that life goes on and it will get better!!!!
Try to set up some fun things to do!!!
Have you ever heard of a Comedy Gospel writer named Tyler Perry, he takes reality situations that happen to us in life and make them funny.
Some of his plays: Maddea's Family Reunion,Maddea Goes to Jail.Dairy Of A Mad Black Woman. I am telling you this because this man was homeless at one time and turned his life around. Now he is giving back by making us laugh. Laughter is so healthy, help her to see that this is not that serious. Please find some of these plays and watch them with her and I bet you two will be laughing in the floor!!!!!!!!!!
