Multiply both sides by 8 to get rid of the fractions:
8(1/2v)=8(1/2v+3/8)
4v=4v+3

Subtract 4v on both sides:
0v=3
No solution

Check:
1/2(0)=1/2(0)+3/8
0=0+3/8
0≠3/8.

i think this question has a typo error. from the way i look at it, the 1/2v will cancel each other out. thus giving the answer of 0=3/8. which is not right.
