turning a hotwater heater off from 9pm to 6am how much will it save or will it cost more to turn it on and off or leaving it alone

You can install a timer on your water heater.....much like on a sprinkler system...you set the time for it to come on and go off.....for example you can set it to come on at 6am and go off 10am and it will be off all day while you go to work....then set it to come back on at 4pm and off at 9pm that way you'll have hot water when you get home from work up until you go to bed.....it's very efficient and it will end up saving you money

Lowes and HomeDepot sell Water Heater Timers. You set the time you want heater on/off. I have one and my power bill dropped app. $20.00 a month.

please dont call it a hot water heater its a
water heater if the water was hot you wouldnt
have to heat it all jokes aside it wouldnt cost more but first time you have to get up early and take a shower you'll get a cool one maybe set 9 to 5 in my line of work i hear it all the time people calling it a hot water heater

best to leave it on one setting instead of start stopping, a lower setting is more efficient and easy on the heater, good luck
