An herbalist is a person who practices Herbalism, also known as Herbal medicine and phytotherapy, which is a folk and traditional medicinal practice based on the use of plants and plant extracts.

A nutritionist is a person who advises people on dietary matters relating to health, well-being and optimal nutrition. Nutritionists should not be confused with dietitians. Dietitians are health care professionals who have received specialized formal accredited tertiary education and training, and undertake internship in hospitals, and who are required to adhere to their regulatory body's code of conduct.

A herbalist works with herbs and can be licensed although if you see one make sure they are. A nutritionist works with healthy eating. To handle a specific health issue you could really use both. The herbalist will work with what herbs better suit your needs. (It most be said though that herbs have not really been proven to work or not work. I use them though.) The nutritionist will help boost your immune and get you healthy. Hope this helps!

A naturopathic doctor is a full medical degree: minimum of a 4 year science degree, than a 4 year naturopathic medicine ND degree. It is highly regulated and requires ongoing licensing and board certification. A holistic practitioner can be anybody practicing any holistic therapy, it is not a protected title, anyone can call themselves a holistic practitioner for anything with no education and no consequences.
