I haven't really decided if i want to have kids someday or not. I have plenty of reasons to think that the best thing would be to not have one, but i don't know if life would get horribly empty if i don't. I like kids, and i know that if i had one i would love him/her so much! but for that same reason... i don't like this world and i wouldn't want someone that i love that much to have to live in it. Also, i would have to work, so i wouldn't be with them as much as i would want to...
What's your opinion on the subject? Do you want or not want children and why? Anyone who is older and never had children? Any personal experience on the matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe you should refrain from planning out that part of your life until you meet someone that really rocks your world. That is a variable that can make all the world of difference in family planning. I have a dear friend, who thought she'd never have kids, but met a man that she was truly enchanted with, and is now mother to wee ones, while the rest of us are about to be grannies. Anything is possible, just let life unfold. Nothing is set in stone. Good luck!

I do not have any children yet, and I have often wondered if it is the right thing to do, bringing them up in this crazy world. That is definitely a bittersweet question. However, I love kids too, and I do want to have children, but I do believe timing is everything. I am coming up on 30 and I have taken this time to enjoy my life, and do things that most people don't get the chance to do because they have children too young. Some people think I'm selfish for waiting, but I know that I will not have any doubts that I made the right decision when I finally do decide to have children. I wish you the best...

I am 40 and I never considered having them. I just don't need the headache. My girlfriend feels the same. Do a yahoo search for “childfree” and you will learn all about a sub-culture most people didn’t know existed.

Before considering having kids or not, I think you should find the right person for you. Once you love someone who also loves you, you won´t have doubts. You will know for sure.

I got my first baby about 10 months ago, and since he comes, my life was changed to be more interesting. I'd love to have another baby. If you are married, then I'd recommend you to have a baby, and do not think of how you'll manage to take care of her/him and your work, I'm sure everything will be OK.

i had my children starting at 32, they are the joys of my life. i waited because i wanted to do things for me and enjoy my marriage first. working and mothering can be done. sometimes tiring, but well worth every minute of sacrifice and PTA meetings you attend. the they are the epitome of my life's joy. best decision i've ever made. i have learned alot from them and had lot of fun in the meantime.

Have one. But if you think you will be too busy for even one, then don't have any. This world is not that good after all. Why bring someone here to suffer.

Children are an enormous responsibility, an enormous amount of work, and an enormous expense.

Children are an never-ending source of joy, worry, satisfaction, disappointment, wonder, inspiration, pain, love, comfort, and fullfillment.

It is worth every last bit of it.

if you haven't decided just wait, it's not one of those things you just "decide" in one moment, you'll know with time.
