Since a child's basic personality is already formed at the tender age of approx 21/2years of age and one often hears mothers/parents talking of how one of their children was such a good baby-slept ,ate ,very compliant, did not cry a whole lot only when very normal for a baby to cry-messy,hungry but in general a peaceful baby while another child may be described as coming into the world screaming and kept it up,- fussy demanding-a difficult baby it makes one wonder why this difference or is there already some personality established in the womb by genetics approx 40% perhaps. Its all rather complicated but since the child comes out already with characteristics that develop into personality No1. would hava to be Gentic, then No 2 is Mother,Father

a. the environment
Environment include surrounding areas and people so family is part of that. That is what makes up the bulk of personality. Genetic factors do play a role, however it is a smaller role than environment.

Tripped over your own ideology, did ya?

I would have to say that even more than 50% of your personality comes from the way you were raised. The other percent is from the way you yourself have adapted to your environment.
