Well they can be a good thing, but the price of the items in the store will go up some. That is why places like Wal Mart want the unions to stay out. They do, however get you excellent health care and retirement benefits. You also get legal advice if an employer does you wrong and legal protection. It is all included in the union contract. You will be required to pay a monthly fee of about 60 dollars, but that is nothing compared to 200 dollars a check for healthcare. Places like Wal Mart do a lot of things that are against the Labor Laws and try like crazy to keep them out of their stores and continue to treat their employees like dirt. They know these employees need their jobs so they get by with just about anything. Unions can be a good thing for both the employer and the employee. It only takes thirty employees to sign union cards to get a union in a retail store.
