Why is not what you should be asking but "IF"
IF I say this will everyone hate me? shows concern for others.
Why shouln't I say what I want? shows total selfishness
IF I do this will it help anyone? shows and earns respect
Why should I do it? shows what selfish pricks human beings can be.

no one will ever have the answer, the only thing we will ever really know is ourselves, the only thing we can ever control is ourselves. the sooner people accept that, then 'why' shouldnt have to come into it, the answer to that could be interpreted differently by everyone, stand by your own conviction!!!!!
