That's a very good question.

I'm not sure of the answer, here's a link to every 50 point game ever scored by a player:

http://nbahoopsonline.com/History/Leagues/NBA/pointsingame.html

Notice how Wilt Chamberlain's name is all over that list... Chamberlain retired in 1973, and still has more 60 point games than everyone else in the history of the NBA combined... this was also true of 50 point games for about 20 years after he retired.

I noticed Billy Cunningham and John Havlicek's names on there, along with Kevin McHale...these two guys started their careers as sixth men...but they were all starters by the time they set their career highs.

I don't know what the highest scoring, rebounding etc records are for a player not in the starting lineup, but that's an excellent question!

Maybe someone else out there might know.

Wilt Chamberlain holds the record for most points and rebounds in a game with 100 points and 55 rebounds. Bulls coach and former Magic player Scott Skiles holds the record for most assists with 30 in a game. Elmore Smith had 17 blocks in a game. And both Larry Kenon and Kendall Gill are tied for most steals in a game with 11.
