I go for The Dirtchamber Sessions by Liam Howlett of The Prodigy or Moby's Everything Is Wrong double cd remix set. Dirtchamber just because of the fact he mixed a techno song with Jane's Addiction and Sex Pistols with some rap song that blended into Chemical brothers. What do you think is the best mixed collection of remixes out there? Yes i do have an extensive Ministry of Sound collection.

hmm im not sure if this album qualifies, but DJ Shadow's album Endtroducing is completely made up of samples from a huge selection of songs. honestly the samples are not easily recognizable (mostly very obscure)

prog rock from what era? are we talking the extra symphonic steel? some examples of bands you sense fit in to this sort might help me out a sprint.
