Not everyone is christian, dear. Do you want them to also say "happy hanukah" "happy kwanza" and "Ramadan mubarak" ?? How about "hail satan" ?? shouldn't they give equal time to all beliefs if they say "merry christmas" ?? Get real, shop where the heck you want, and leave the rest of us alone.

They substitue "Merry Christmas" for "Happy Holidays" just like HUNDREDS of other mainstream retailers. Why? Because "Merry Christmas" allegedly implies a forcing of christianity on to non-believers. Do I believe that? No way, I'm not irrational. It's just like you being offended for their "Happy Holiday" ads. Get over it. Everyone wants everything to be politically correct but gets all in a tizzy if it doesn't conform to their OWN ideals. What does it matter where I shop for a christmas present? If you're going to be so upset that they won't say "Merry Christmas" (I can only guess as to why) then you obviously don't understand the REAL meaning behind the season. Not a baby being born in a barn. The feelings of family and unity. A time for everyone to get together with those that are near and dear to them and celebrating that time together. Not buying from a retailer that supports strong christian overtones.

Despite all the scathing remarks and insults you're drawing from other respondents, I think you have a point. But I wouldn't boycott the store for that reason. Their policy is sadly misguided, but they won't suffer from the loss of my business since I never shop there anyway.

Considering that most Americans celebrate Christmas, it is ABSURD to make it unnacepptable to even use the word "Christmas." Some people say "Well, think of other religions! Jews and Muslims and Wiccans and such!"

If other religious groups are really offended by the mere use of the word "Christmas" during the time when we celebrate the holiday, they are too sensitive. None of my Muslim friends are "offended" by Christmas. They wish me a Merry Christmas, and I wish them a Happy Eid Mubarak!

If I were to get a day off from work or school for, say, Yom Kippur, I wouldn't complain one bit. On Rosh Hashanah I'm perfectly willing to wish my Jewish neighbors a Happy Rosh Hashanah.

This form of political correctness is ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.

Since I don't shop there anyway, can I just continue to not shop there but claim it's because I'm boycotting? Because I'd really like my friends and neighbours to think that I'm a ignorant, petty, insecure Christian, just like Christ urged us to be in the Bible.

Happy Solstice!

I don't want religion in my politics, and vice versa. And I don't want religion in my electronics, either. Sounds like possession to me. Man, I'm just trying to play my stereo and some religious stuff comes out? No way! I'm glad they don't say Merry Christmas. If they say one, they have to say them all...Kwanzaa, Solstice, Yule, Hannukkah, Christmas, St. Lucia Day, Lupercalia, all them holidays. And you BEST NOT leave out the Festivus carols!

Keep your religion out of my technology, and I'll keep my technology out of your religion.

Big deal, so what? Who really cares if they don't say "Merry Christmas"? Not everybody celebrates Christmas. Some celebrate Quanza or Hanuka, or perhaps some other holiday.

Is this a question, or a request? Anyways... what would you rather they say, Merry Kwanza or Happy Winter Solstice? They can't be partial, or else they'd get sued for discrimination.
