Im an 18 year old girl and in my opinion i think i am way to young to be having kids.. Me and my boy friend are sexually active. I am worried that i could be pregnent after having sex and using the withdrawal method, we were drunk and i had stopped taking my pill a month ago because i had no time to go back to the doctor and get more. I'm not to sure weather he came inside me or not but it got on the outside of my vigina, i think quite close to the enterence and also on my leg which im not worried about because i highly doubt you can get pregnant from that. My doctor said it is to early to get a test.. He says im not pregnant although i don't know how he can tell... I think i could be.. because there is a possibility it got inside me.. Please give some advice.. do you think i could be.. i continue to worry... :(

You could be. So you have to wait and see. Next time, please, use a condom!

I don't know why your doctor told you you're not pregnant. Maybe to reassure you (no need to worry until you get the results) or maybe because you were not ovulating at that time.

Anyway. The withdrawal method is not really a good one because there is a great chance that some sperm will get out of the man's penis before he has time to withdraw. It's even worse when the man is drunk. Also, sperm on your legs are not likely to make you pregnant, except if you touch it and then touch yourself (not very likely, but...).

Anyway. i know this is not your question, but I hope you both did the test (of course, if you lost your virginity together and none of you uses drugs...).

I hope everything's fine. But, just to reassure you, usually (I'm not saying all the time, but pretty much), when girls stop the pill, it usually takes a few months before they can get pregnant because of the chemicals. I don't know the exact explanation, but... That, and the fact that maybe you were not ovulating.

The chance is there, but depending on where you were in your cycle, it may or may not be a LIKELY possibility. If you were on your period, or had JUST gotten off of your period, the chances aren't as high. If this was just a one time mistake, again, the possibility is there, but it's not very high if you weren't in the optimal conception times in your cycle.

I hope, however, that this is a lesson to you that until you're ready for kids, you should be careful. Condoms are effective, birth control pills are effective if used correctly, and the shot is effective. None of these methods are 100%, but they're a lot safer than chancing it with unprotected sex.

Pregnancy is not the only thing that you risk when you have unprotected sex, but I don't need to tell you this. You've had sex-ed in school. You know the risks, and yes, it CAN happen to you.

If you don't start your period, take a test. I don't think that it will come back positive, but because that chance was there, I would suggest testing.

There really is no way to tell right now. You just have to wait. I know that is hard but there really is nothing that can be done untill there has been enought time for a test to tell. If you are not pregnate please let that be a lesson to be more responsable untill you are ready to have a baby. They are the greastest joy ever but, you are still young, and they are a lot of work. If you are I wish you guys all the luck. Things will work out how they were meant to. Everything happens for a reason.

A doctor can tell by an exam. You can get pregnant that way, but might not be! Get some condoms or more pills now! Next time be prepared! Even better, abstinence is the only sure prevention!

In all honesty.. I doubt that you are pregnant. We are trying to concieve and trust me its not that easy. My hubby read a site that told him that even if it comes close the sperm needs a whole heap of fluid to swim in and they can not survive on the outside of the vagina.

The most fertile time for a woman to get pregnant is during ovulation. 11-14 days from the first day of your last period. Are you in that time zone?

Some women when trying to concieve sit with their legs up in the air for 10 minutes after ejaculation and then no weeing for the rest of the night to ensure it worked.

After youve been on the pill, it is very hard to get pregnant also. Sometimes it can take months to years.

Try not to stress. If there is time get the morning after pill which ccan be taking up to 72 hours after unprotected sex.

Good luck girl!

look i do not mean to scare you but yes there is a possiblity. a good option would have been the next morning to seek a planned parenthood clinic and get at morning after pill to avoid this worry... but it's too late now i'm sure- so maybe keep it in mind for next time you're low on your pills. my advice to you is wait until your period is about to come and take a first response test, or two. good luck and stay calm...

It is very likely bc the withdrawal method is not 100% effective. If you think there is a chance then you should prolly take a test when you miss your period....that is the only way to know but yes you could def. be pregnant.

Honey, I had a kid when I was 17 years old. Even though you might not be pregnant right now, why didn't he wear a comdom until you went to the doctor. Kids are a joy to the world. At least your not talking about abortion. Keep your head up girl and you'll make it through it even if your not pregnant. Just learn from your mistakes!!!

I have not been taking the pill for two months now, & everyday I have been having unprotected sex, but I am not pregnant, so no it doesn't necesserily mean that you are.

& when you are able to get results for a test, have a blood test - it's most accurate as some home tests aren't.
