Some of the things I like about them are all the things I'd go to prison for doing in real life. In a video game I can drive like a complete moron, go as fast as I want, crash into stuff, kill people or just beat them up, and blow things up! I also get to fly all kinds of planes and helicopters, and shoot guns that don't even exist in real life. They also help with hand/eye coordination a little.
