I was also wondering if anyone knew if the repiercing could be done near the other piercing. My daughter is 14 years old. The first piercing was done so crooked that she was worried about the ear ring pulling through the remaining skin. She has very tiny earlobes to begin with, so there isn't much space to work with. She really doesn't want to be without earrings for very long, but she doesn't have much earlobe to get them pierce before they grow back over.

Thanks!

my daughters were pierced crooked too. you can go back immediately and have them redone. the old hole will just close up as the new one heals with the earring in it. doesn't matter if the holes start or end in the same place. the 'wrong' part will just close up.

I wouldn't repierce for about 6 months to a year. My ears closed up twice when i was in elementary school, and I still have lumps there, but my ears pierced fine when i was starting middle school. Don't pierce them in an awkward spot-wait until there is healed scar-tissue there, then pierce, b/c 1. it will hurt less b/c the skin is thinner, and 2. You don't want the holes to close up then leave a big space where the piercing should be, while there are holes further up or down the ear....that would look unbalanced.

It depends on whether they've already healed or not. If the piercing is fresh, then she could probably take the earrings out and the holes will heal over. But if they've already healed, I don't think they'll ever disappear. It's just like a scar.

As to when she could get them done again...I think that as long as the original piercing has healed without infection, it should be safe to go again. But make sure you take her somewhere reputable, with decent piercing skills and proper hygiene techniques, just in case!

It depends on how long they have been pierced. If it has been less than 24 hours then just take the earring out and it should close within a couple of days. However, if it has been longer than 48 hours take the earrings out and it should take about two weeks. No matter how long you should always wait about 6 weeks if you want to have them pierced in the same area. Hope everything works out for you.

Full Ear Pierced

Without knowing exactly how "crooked" they are it is hard to tell. I had my daughters done at 2 months and they too looked a little crooked but she ended up growing into them and now they look just fine. I had the same question and knew the only way to fix it was to take them out, let them close up and then do them later on again. With the body nothing of ours is exactly symmetrical, one ear lobe is always a little smaller, same with eyes, nostrils, feet, etc. This can cause the illusion of them being a little crooked. When i wear earrings it looks like one is also a little crooked but in reality it really is centered just like the other one. If you are still worried about it I would take them out and then get them redone when she is a bit older.

wait 6 months to a year to get them re-done. this will help avoid excess scarring (the little lump in your lobe from the piercing) also don't go to a shop like Clair's and get them pierced by a piercing gun! go to a piercing shop and have a professional do it.

You can let the hole close up but it will be hard to pierce on top of that spot because scar tissue forms inside after the healing process....I would let it close and then get it repierced as close as you can to the center of the lobe., you can do this while the other hole is closing just make sure to keep it clean. Good luck

it doesn't make sense to get them re-pierced next to the new holes when she JUST got them done. and if you take them out, she might get her ears messed up[she'll get a BIG lump where she got it pierced]. just let them heal first(takes 4-6 weeks for the earlobes and 6-8 weeks for cartilage). and when they heal, just take the earrings out and let them close. so you can go and get them re-pierced. the best place is at piercing Pagoda. don't go to a place that doesn't look professional, and don't go to the same place you went to again.

I wish they would grow over. I had a second set of holes put in my ears over 15 years ago and they were so crooked that they looked ridiculous. Unfortunately, the holes are still visible and despite NOT wearing earrings in them, I could still, if I wanted to.
