You may not know or realize when you lose your mucus plug. Actually, you may have already lost it.

Also if you are having numbness in your leg, it may be that the baby is pushing on a nerve. Sometimes laying on your left side can bring some relief. If that does not help, I'd suggest calling your OB just to make sure.

Everything else sounds like it's going as planned. Back pain is common when the baby drops and the increase in braxton hicks is helping your body prepare for the full fledged labor.

Not too much longer to go! Good luck and God Bless!

It sounds like this one is pretty much ready to come into the world. You can stay 2 CM for the rest of the pregnancy, its pretty much considered normal these days. Your mucus plug will be thick, clear, and tinged with blood. (not always), but most of the patients I've seen on admissions experience this. The numbness on the leg and foot is the baby laying on a nerve, ( 1 possibility) but your doctor can answer that better than I. If you home from work now, I would keep off your feet when you have the numbness. Be sure to tell your doctor on your next visit...Best of luck to you and your family!

Well not all women know when they of if they have lost there plug it can happen for sure with out knowing your doctor should able to help you with this question the best as you know you are 2 cm dilated then they should know if you have lost your plug or not. I am 38 weeks and having been losing it slowly some women lose it all at once. Usually if you lose your plug and start to dilate your water may break soon after and then the contraction get harder. that is when you are in true labor. call your doctor as soon as youhave a bloody show labor is not far from that.

the leg thing is totally normal, I had what they call restless leg syndrome for my whole last trimester what a drag. the mucus plug is a big glob of mixed blood and mucus. that is what my friend and I passed anyway.

I knew when I lost it (at 39 weeks) because it did not look like discharge... it looked like someone put a tablespoon worth round blob of clear JELLY in my underwear (actually it was kind of brown..)
