In an element symbol, only the first letter is a capital letter...any later letters are lowercase. There aren't any exceptions.

Could you give a specific example of which element symbol you're looking at? Perhaps you're mistaking a compound chemical formula for an element symbol. For example, CO is carbon monoxide, a compound. Co is cobalt, an element.

ALL second letters are lowercase, your periodic table is crappy.
