I don't know where you live Cancun weather is about like Houston. High today was 84 humidity 74%. shorts by day long pants by night or shorts do take long a long sleeve shirt keep mosquito's off at night and it may cool down some. I spent Lot's time in tulum down the road from Cancun. Enjoy your trip take a bus to tulum see the ruins. Google weather in cancun get all you need.

it is hot there. Cancun is a causal place. If you are someone that likes to go to a fancy restaurant then bring a nice outfit or two. If like to go clubbing bring something a bit more clubby. Overall just causal.
