i read that some people say it is real and some say fake. i dont know what to believe and is the re a way to get celebi without cheating and without going to a nintendo event.

You have to be really lucky. Here is another glitch [It may not work but i am 43% sure] In Pokemon Collusum bread a Bayleaf with a Arbok and you may get a Celibi.
But i do have a Celibi on my Fire Red by using a action replay

nope either nintendo event or a code device a recommend the code device but if you want to go all the way to a event thats cool thatll be another few years though you cant get alot of legendary pokemon without the event i dought that will happen again and a code device pretty risky cause code devices could do the worst to your game and if you trade and that person game messed up cause of that code device yours mess up to be very carefull this kid got his game erased when used his gameshark incorrecltly
