i fell throw a floor broard in a council rented house.now i am dont a money grabber.but at the time i was carrying my 4 month old baby.when coming through the front door the floor broard giveway.my baby was fine but i was stuck but shock and fear i managed to free myself .but within minutes had masses of brusing.i went to hospital and took photos of the floor but what bothers me is the council housing officer passed the house for a safety check about 11 months before and i latter relised it the bit i fell through was actually rotting and a hiding trap door.now 15 month latter i still have like very small lumps under the skin which were bigger but got smaller.which my doctor told me was blood clots and give medacine for.even after reporting this to the council it took them ages to fix it although there was a 14 feet drop below.so its not about money more so anger.i have since moved house.

I am pessimistic about how you're ever going to prove this. The Council repaired the damage. You've moved house and they've probably covered their tracks. Unless you took the precaution of mechanically dating your photos, they could have been taken any time as far as the Council is concerned. I'd like to be more encouraging and I think it's terrible to have exposed you and the baby to such a dangerous situation, but to succeed in such cases you have to enlist support at the time so that you can call evidence against the Council. As it is, what convincing evidence do you have?

For once I hope I'm wrong.

It sounds like you do....the housing officer's negligence in not spotting the rotting floor caused the accident. Its worth a try - especially if you use one of the no win no fee solicitors - all it would cost you is a phone call....good luck
