If they are a recognized pain in the ****, they'll get a lot of answers & not many of them very kind. If a questioner is recognized as a polite person & someone respected, they'll receive responses of a much more genteel nature because people want them to know that they've seen their question & are willing to take time to answer.
I doubt that this one will top 400 but if so, then that would be nice too. Happy Tuesday. :)

Depends on several factors :
The question being answered, whether it is a good question or not, if the person asking the question is nice or mean or vulgar, how many people take the question seriously, how many just give any old answer, how many ignore it, how many people are in the section at the time, etc etc etc....

It just depends on the question....if it is easy or something that anyone can answer (ex. Favorites or opinions) then you get a bunch of people. But if it is a specific question that not too many people know about or want to answer then it is low.

Yes, I do wonder. I also wonder why I rarely get anymore answers after about 45 minutes, irregardless, how long I have it posted.
I wonder if they have a How to ask Questions link? Ha! Ha!

It depends on the time it was asked, the asker, the people who are on, the popularity of the question, the mood of the answerers... :-)

I have wondered that, too. I guess it is familiarity of the asker, or even if the question is one that applies to the majority of the masses on YA.
