That's probably the best relationship question I've ever seen asked.

And I don't know if I can give a good answer that's universal, and I don't think anyone can.

But... at the root of it all, is that a straight or bi-guy, and a straight or bi-girl will always have that hormonal thing going on between them. Pheromones in the air will always in some way impact any relationship (at least in person) between male and female (not sure if both are gay though... that might be the exception - where guys and girls can be just friends...).

And socially/mentally I think even online there is some element of sexual tension invariably lurking in the background. At least when you *know* the gender of the person you're interacting with.

Oddly - I'm not sure which is worse - knowing, or guessing the gender of the person I'm interacting with. I think many, maybe all of us make assumptions.

Like I just realized I assume that you are a straight woman asking this. And that's ironic, as I started writing this up I wrote clinically - gender and orientation independent as it were...

I think for me at least - there is a special element of love for my female friends that is very different from the relationships I have with my male friends. And to be clear, I'm a straight male - and that may significantly impact how I've responded. I don't know.

But again - great question - look forward to reading replies.

attempt to construct some self assurance. This sounds completely tacky yet stand in the front of a mirror and say some valuable issues about your self. you've already got females swooning about your solid looks, so all you should do is placed your self accessible. you'll actual get a lady friend in case you commence talking to them. if you're making the first flow, trust me, the international is yours. desire I helped.

Its probably from jealous spouses afraid their partners will be nicked!

I personally don't find this to be true, I've always got on with guys better than girls & its always been completely platonic.

i dont know. but i have tons of guy friends...prob more than girl freinds. i think ppl just automatically think guys & girls can only be close if they are dating. but i disagree...its whoever u get along with, not whether they are a guy or girl.
