1 AU = the average distance from the earth to the sun. I can't remember what that is, but if you find out, just multiply it by 40.

40 Astronomical Units = 5 983 920 000 kilometers

An AU is about 150 million km, so 40 * 150 million is 6000 million, or 6 billion km.
