naugas are slippery little suckers, and very hard to catch, therefore genuine nauga hide is almost impossible to come by
so someone came up with a vinyl like material that almost exactly looks and feels like genuine nauga skin after its been tanned and stretched, henceforth, naugahyde was born

First you have to find a naugas, skin him and then you'll have the hyde .
