man... thats hard. this probably isnt much help but I would say both. yoga would help your balance which is very important for ballet and pilates would strengthen your core muscles which keep everything togeth for you to turn etc. both would help your flexibility. if i had to choose though, I would say pilates. its harder so its harder for you to force yourself to do it at home. you can strenghten your balance at home and work on it every day, or even every day that you do pilates. good luck!

Pilates was once derived from Yoga. It is just about a variant of Yoga. They say that Pilates is used to hold muscle mass lengthy and skinny however I have obvious the equal outcome from Yoga, simply seem at Madonna. Yoga is centered on a spiritualism, whatever Pilates does not have. They each cognizance at the value of respiring. So which one is higher is fairly your selection. Do you want the religious aspect and the rest or do you simply want the versatility and the exercise?

pilates definitely. Yoga focuses more on meditating than critical body work for ballet. Pilates stretches you but at the same time works your muscles to be lean for a ballet built body. A lot of dancers do pilates. They offer pilates classes at my dance studio.

Yoga is excellent for after a difficult class. It helps you losen up tight muscles and relaxes you. Pilates warms you up and stretches you out well. Do pilates before class, but not too much to tire yourself out. You need your strength to perform in class.
