A cat kills and eats a mouse. Is that good or bad?
That depends on whether you are a farmer, or a mouse.
Evil is not an objectively existent quality. It depends on your perspective.

Hitler became evil when he was laughed at as an aspiring artist.
He was an avid reader, and he read a little too much Neitzsche.
He misinterpreted what Neitzsche was saying (esp. in the Genealogy of Morals) about the GErman Race and Anto-semitism.
So maybe Neitzsche made Hitler evil?
Society does have an impact on what a person becomes. Much like a pitbull. Yes, there are instincts for evil in the dog, but when it is trained as thus, he becomes his primal urge. Who is to blame, the dog or the trainer?
In most cases of an evil being, there is a correlation to family upbringing. To say that society has had no influence on an evil being is just plain asinine.
But, the choices that are made by the evil individual are wholly in the realm of the chooser himself. To try and deflect any responsibility from doing evil actions onto society is what Sartre termed "bad faith".

I have wondered this same thing, I have two siblings that have seemed evil and cruel since birth. Most People are going to tell you no,looking at a beautiful new baby it's hard to see any evil . I guess it depends what you believe, the dead sea scrolls say that when a baby is born a spirit comes to them either dark or light,The bible gives us all a chance to choose.,and be forgiven ,and start over but I guess people that have made history such as Hitler,The Anti-Christ must have had some predisposed hankering to wreak havoc.

1. Scrambled eggs create genetic anomalies.
2. It has been documented that Serial Killer, Ted Bundy, at a very young age, would put knifes in his sister's bed while she slept.
3. The Time-Life series, on Punishment and Crime, has one book devoted to children that kill.
4. An incredibly inciteful book, written by forensic psychiatrist, Helen Morrison — My Life Among the Serial Killers indepth explains the different types. Much better than the regular FBI books that all have the same list (i.e. firestarting, bed-wetting, hurting animals, etc. at an early age).
5. Hitler was, but he also had advanced syphillis at the end of his life, which probably exacerbated the heinous acts. I read a book on all the medical records archived on Hitler. His hands shook so badly that he had to sit on them. He was in ranting rage, and it was stated that no one could tolerate being with him for more than 15 minutes toward the end, except Eva Braun. There are many books that indicate he may have had something to do with his niece's fall to her death.
Good Luck and Warm Wishes

I wish I can join the group and say "no".
Unfortunately, my life experiences said "YES".
Even as an infant, some has very strange attitude.
Many toddler and young kids are selfish, but, some are down right evil, I mean, they ENJOY violent. What's more, they can act like an a little angel in front of you, then do some meanest thing in your back, and that's what separate evil from mentally ill.
My guess is, there are some souls, chosen by God to serve him in special way, and may be, the Satan has similar privilege to choose some soul for it self.

Everyone is born pure and innocent. Then as they become older they begin to become exposed the world around them. Eventually they make choices that shape them into what they become. Some turn out good and some bad. The really evil ones appear good to the masses but they are really evil, thus "seducing".

No, Hitler was shaped in to evil by his stepfather, who was BAD! No one is born evil, it's how we're treated, and how our minds work. people grow up in the worst kind of homes and become great. People also grow up in the worst kind and lash out. It depends on the person.

They are born with a congenital anomaly. It is lack of conscience and it is real. These people are the ones diagnosed as sociopaths. What it means is they truly have no sense of right or wrong. It is right if they want to do it. They do not understand consequences until they are firmly taught if they commit an act that is antisocial they will have to pay serious consequences

What do you think that is right? Well Hitler was just doing what he thought he could do, good thing he went down. I wouldn't say its evil, or even good, people have choices to make a difference, my guess is hitler thought he can do anything so do you think you can do anything with your powers! yes i think i can but i'm lazy so yeah...=D

evil is relative... a human construct.... it's definition has to do entirely with the person doing the defining. so it depends on who you ask. there really is no such thing as evil. so sure, if you want to call the baby that, then "you think the baby is evil" .. but the baby is not "evil" in an absolute sense. its really a retarded word.. as well as good,bad,right,wrong.... not good to use in philosophy because anyone who can think objectively sees they have no real meaning.
