Public schools and Private schools are very alike. Most private schools have uniform, while most public schools don't, but some do. Private schools spend a lot of money on sports programs, and they have demerits and then give detentions. Public schools spend money on sports programs, just don't have as much of a variety of sports, and they just go ahead and give detention instead of warnings like demerits.

The answer to this question truly lies within the student. The outcome of your success in either a private institution or a public one will depend on what kind of environment an individual can really put forth their best.

I personally prefer private schooling because of their strict policies on homework, classwork, dress codes, discipline, attendance, behavior, etc.

Of course setting rules and enforcing them doesn't mean that it's better, but it does maintain order in the classroom where students respect teachers and vice versa, the atmosphere is more of a learning environment, more welcoming.

There are cons to going to a private school as well. Some think that because it's a private school there aren't any drugs, drinking, sex or 'bad' kids, but it does happen it just probably doesn't occur as often and/or you just don't hear about it.

Overall, private schools are better, in my opinion, because the teachers do care about the students and they offer more one on one attention.

I personally attented private school from the second grade through my senior year in highschool and now attending a private university.

My brother was not doing very well in public school so my mother switched him to a private school where has shown improvement in his work.

Hence, it really does depend on what kind of a student an individual is and what kind of environment they can work best in.

There are great public schools and private schools. The private schools have better equipment but that does not improve the academics of a student.

Well to be completely honest with you, I have been in a private school and public school. So to answer your question, I like public school better, because private school was really boring, they expect more out of you, and it is a lot harder to do the work. So for me I would rather go to public school.

I went to a private primary school and a public high school. I think @ the private I learnt more and there were higher standards for teaching and learning but it does come down to the student.

Private schools, charter schools, and home study programs are outperforming public schools, but in the process, the competitions is causing many public schools to improve.
