I have heard many people say they are white but do not look it. If you look part black or asian then how exactly are you white? You are basing race on social construct. How could you be white when your skin is dark brown and you look mexican?

When people say white its kinda slang for American
take this for example my friends mom is completely american but her dad is part hawaiin so shes really tan. People think shes mexican or black but she just says shes white. so white is just slang for american its not racist or anything

in NY i grew up with many people Irish and Italian who look white but will correct you in a heart beat if you call them white. only in America have we made the world white and black. what does it matter?????
