Yeah ... and they live on plankton and seafood which is totally healthy and has about 0 calories and 0 fat, but they're enormous.

Contrast this with pythons, who gorge themselves on huge quantities of food, then spend days lying around sleeping it off. Yet they are very svelte creatures.

I think the diet and exercise industry needs a HUGE shake-up! Come on people, there's something we're missing here!

Hmmm....scientific explanation.....

Besides the fact that whales are sea creatures, and as such are physically different in structure from human beings, they are also mammals just like we are - that means that they give birth to live young, versus giving birth to eggs like birds do. Whales are very strong, most of their bodies are composed of muscle, with an overlying layer of fat - but that fat isn't obesity like it is for humans, a whale needs that fat to protect their bodies from the cold of extreme depths at sea. That is also why they are so large and so strong, so that their bodies can survive diving to such great deeps, and still come back alive - when's the last time you saw a human being dive to those kind of depths with nothing to protect them? Never. So comparing whales to humans is not fair - the whale is built extremely well for it's environment.

I don't know the scientific answer, but whales are just made that way. You've never seen a whale with rolls of fat, that could barely move, have you?

I hope you're joking. Whales aren't fat. It's their structure shape. Along with muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, and it's also bulkier.
