though this question cannot be pushed into phylosophy section i am looking for insights on a profound level hence it's here. i personally think "theory of evolution" is baseless and trivial.

Some soul seems to have taken my question very subjectively. No offenses on any one. And I forgive him/her who said I made an "a** of yourself".

this is just a thought in queston form.

No, most people don't realize that later in his life, Charles Darwin became a devout christian and refuted, in writing, much of what he concluded in "The Descent of Man". Darwin definitely proved that a species will change in order to adapt to a changing environment, but nowhere do we find any credible evidence of a species adapting so much that it actually becomes a different species. This is just a lot of speculation first and then trying to find evidence to justify the conclusion.

You're looking for profound insights with this question? Maybe you should word it in a meaningful way then. As its worded now it seems to be a trivial question. Why do you think the theory is baseless and trivial? The vast majority of people that actually study biology and Darwin's theory would disagree with you. Ask the question on an adult level and you will get adult answers.

A thesis can be accepted or rejected by a body of evidences. Further more a theory can be adjusted to explain a body of evidence that does not conform to the original thesis.
On the other hand, a faith is accepted or rejected by personal preference and only by the personal choice.
In scientific community as a whole accepts the fact that theory of evolution has abundant body of evidences. Until we have a better explanation of our existence, theory of evolution is the theory of the land.
I don't think one should think a theory is baseless and trivial but one must provide an abundant body of evidence that disputes a theory. Whereas a faith can be chosen by thinking it and proclaiming it.
The essence of Darwinism theory lies with a claim that the mechanism of a natural selection and genetic drift which resulted what I am (at a biological level).
At this point in history, I donot have a better explanation of my current existence in term of ever correcting theory.
As you already know that a Dogma and faith does not deal with a self correction aspect. By definition of an knowing the ultimate truth is one that does not need to be corrected. There lies a point that faith and theory is a true apples and oranges. They coexist but does not contradict each other.
All in all, Darwin's theory did not make monkey out of me but I may be sharing the same ancestor.
Weather I exist because of God's divine plan or mear accidental choice and adaptation, the existence of observation of my evolution at a personal level can't not be denied. I "believe" all human's the final destination of my growth(evolution) is knowing God. Not at the cognitive level, but knowing God at biblical context.

Darwin does not say that humans came from Monkeys. He said that monkeys and humans share a common anscestor.
Perhaps a bit more information-gathering about the theory is in order, including more up to date research. Darwin did his research 150 years ago, and only scratched the surface. Perhaps "The Blind Watchmaker" by Richard Dawkins.

Whether it's "trivial" is a matter of opinion. But agree with it or not, the theory of evolution is hardly "baseless" to anyone who's objectively investigated it.

No, natural selection made monkeys, Man, and other creatures from an ancestor which would not be classified as a monkey. Your question, with no evidence cited, is baseless and trivial. It's rather pointless looking for profound insights with superficial rhetoric.

Millions of facts not otherwise explainable -- become clear. ENTIRE fossil record makes sense now. 1000's of pages of evidence! All not enough -- for you Evolution is still baseless and trivial.
I am assuming you did not bother to READ the evidence -- thus you Believe that it is baseless.
Yes, Darwin really have made a MONKEY out of you by exposing your ability to make STUPID judgment calls without examining the evidence.

so what's the alternative? we were all created by a god - which one?, there's a few to choose from - and have only been around for a few (several) thousand years. i personally think that putting the whole show done to some divine being is also trivial, and a mighty big cop-out to boot.

I personally think you haven't had an original thought process in your life.

I also think that anyone who thinks that an error-ridden, contradictory piece of work like the Bible is the word of God is a doofus, without the simplest structure of reasoned thought and critical thinking...

I guess we're at an intellectual standstill
