Think of the 8 as 2^3.
Then you have 2^100/2^3 which is 2^97 exactly.(because you subtract the powers from each other)

There is no remainder.

Both numbers are powers of 2

You are basically dividing two exponents of the same number here. Since 8 = 2^3, and you are dividing into 2^100, you subtract exponents and there is no remainder.
