I sometimes get nose bleeds and I hear tampons work!

It's not that tampons are unsanitary, but experts say that sticking *anything* up your nose for a nosebleed isn't good. The reason is that the lining in your nose is very thin and easy to rupture (hence the cause of nosebleeds) and having something up your nose doesn't allow that membrane to heal up as quickly. When my husband was getting frequent nosebleeds, his doctor told him to pinch his nose for 5 minutes and lean forward (so as not to swallow blood) and breath through your mouth.

Believe it or not, there is such a thing as a nasal tampon! So using your sisters tampons for your nose bleeds would work the same way.

If you nose bleeds that much that you need to use a tampon, maybe you should go see an Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor
