everybody's mentioned nirvana and pearl jam already, but:
hole, sonic youth, meat puppets, dinosaur jr., temple of the dog, alice in chains, silverchair.

basically (mostly) everything above, but also The Melvins. they are so awesome, they were a bit more underground in the grunge scene, but they are still recording albums.
