Well, it depends... Orlando is full of tourists and vacationers while Tampa is full of retired families. Orlando has all the great theme parks and attractions, but Tampa has the beach, plus a theme park, too (Busch Gardens.) Each city offers different pros and cons. Someone may want to move to Orlando because there's just so much stuff to do and so many people. On the other hand, that may be the exact reason someone else wouldn't want to move to Orlando.
You should make a list of the positives and negatives of moving to each city. You mentioned your job allows you to travel - travel how? If this job allows you to fly often, you may want to compare something like the airports. I prefer the Orlando International Airport, so if it were me, I may choose Orlando for that reason. But as a negative, I wouldn't want to live in Orlando because it's closer to Walt Disney World than Tampa. I don't want to be too close to WDW, or else I'll be there almost every day and I'll eventually get sick of the place.
Now, you just have to think about things like that, that would make you either want to or not want to live in Orlando or Tampa.
Congratulations and good luck with the new job!

Tampa. The water is beautiful and in Orlando you are land locked. I have lived in both places. If you don't care about the beach/water then Orlando has all the attractions but a lot of tourist too.
Check out the Insider Real Estate Blog. It talks about different neighborhoods and gives you an idea of what the market is like.

Depends on you. Orlando has much more to see and do. Tampa is more relaxed.

Neither, go further East towards the Coast and get away from the crowds and traffic. And we are still considered Central Florida.
