Our hamster, Milo, got really cold for about 2 weeks before he died. The vet said we could put him to sleep, or he could just be comfortable at home and we had a heating lamp on near his cage. He curled up and slept most of the time, and then didn't wake up one morning. Hamsters only live 2-3 years which is sad.

I hate to say this but my hampster chocolate died of the same simptoms. It sounds like wet tail. if he's young he's more likely to have it than if he's an older hampster. I'm also sorry to say that there's really no cure and a vet can't help. most people of high pet society call hampsters throw away pets. Go to the pet store you got him at and if you've had him a month or less they'll probably give you a new one and some food or something. Thats all they can really do. I'm really sorry and i hope I'm wrong about the wet tail thing. Hold him tight and try to keep him warm. It may just be a cold and he'll be fine. I really hope he will.

Is it eating? When my hamster did that she wouldn't eat and was so cold I thought she was dead. If there is no more symptoms then that it has caught a chill. with mine I put a towel in the dryer and warmed it up. then a mixed some wet canned cat food with water. warm it up for ten seconds gab a syringe and the towel and go to work. Start by wrapping it loosely in the warm towel place it on your lap and syringe feed it the warm food. the towel warms the outside and the food warms the inside. it also gives it water and nutrient to help fight whatever it got I did this four times a day. when you put it back in the cage put the towel in with it so it will help it stay warm. My hamster live for two more years before it died at the age of seven

Sorry, about your hamster.

Try keeping him warm by putting a towel under his cage and on top, hold him, and also keep the air in the house warm, Dont take him to the vet, there to expicev, its cheaper to go buy a new one.

My hamster got like that, just before he died. There's nothing that can be done. Keep him warm and comfy, offer him food and water, but let him know he's loved. That's all. I'm sorry.
