um ya i really want a video ipod but im affraid it may be a little over budget for my parents how should I ask this?

well if it is so important and so neccesary ask for it. these days try to be polite, do good things...and study..perents love this...get good grades and than ask your parents. tell tehm you understand if they cant buy it to you, but you would love to cuz its so important to you...

Perhaps try dropping a BIG hint that is what you'd like to receive for Christmas. But let them know that you know it is way to expensive so wouldn't it be nice if a couple of people got together and gave you this rather than one person having to spend too much. That is very thoughtful and mature of you to recognize that this is probably too much $$$ for your folks and you deserve to be commended on this acknowledgment. There are a lot of others your age who not have been as selfless when dreaming of what presents they'd like to receive. I hope that you do get it though and maybe your parents/grandparents or someone can split the cost. Merry Christmas.

mom i realy want a video i pod even if it is over budget. it is the only thing i realy want and i wont loose it like might have in the past wiht some other toys i have owned.

its ok!!! i was scared to ask for a digetal camera 2!! you know you have to start trusting your parents, i have two advises, 1. you can just ask them like if you were askin them you need new clothes, if they said that they dont have the money right now than ask if you can get it wen u r older or wen they have the money, 2. you could also wait for your allowence or when you get your money from work, if you get allowence every week you can save it up and get it your self try both if none work i dont know what will happen

Do your research. Comparison shop like crazy. Ebay, and every electronic store there is. Also, make sure you are "earning" it. Homework, chores, etc. Then asking will be easy.

If they ask you what you want just have an honest conversation with them, tell them it's okay if they can't or even suggest going in with another relative for it :)

Name reasons why you want it bargain, a little and it could work.. and don't use "all my friends have" it usually ticks off my parents....
