Tell her to ask her OB before she does anything. My OB said it was fine up to 4 months, as long as you stay hydrated... but i live in arizona and was pregnant during the summer, where is is often hotter outside than in the tanning beds. Also, that doesn't mean i did it. When in doubt, it is always best to ask your doctor.

Tanning beds are so risky on your well being. i think of they're approximately 5 circumstances worse than laying in the sunlight. I definately could stay remote from them pregnant or not. Why not bypass the risk-free way, get a twig on tan prob fee below the tanning mattress.

NO because a tanning bed laterally cooks the inside of your body. If she lays in the tanning bed then she will be cooking her baby.

No, she shouldn't be tanning in a tanning bed. Tell her to try the spray tans... they are usually vegetable based and are perfectly fine to use if you are pregnant.

The doctors say no. However, when I went to cancel my sessions, they tried to talk me into it saying he had a woman who was 6 months and was still going. Crazy I think! It can do harm to the baby though.

No it is bad for the baby. Tell her to read about tanning beds on Babycenter.com. It will explain the reasons.

No, it is not a good idea, they are actually supposed to ask you if you may be pregnant. If she is obsessed w/ her tan have her try a mystic (spray tan)

yes you can....you aren't going to cook the baby....if she doesn't do it excessivly, like 20+ minutes daily. but eventually they will probably make your friend too hot to want to get in there. i continued to go in my first trimester and early 2nd trimester. i asked my ob/gyn and he gave the the go ahead. but remind your friend that she may burn easier now that she is pregnant.
