My dad put a cd into the computer (note that he has NO computer skills), and it is a operating system disk. It erased all data, and some very important things are gone from the computer. What should I do?

Restore your system....track it back to as far as it can take you and hopefully you might get all your important things back, if not I suggest you purchase a book for your dad... Basic Computer Skills for Dummies..maybe you should just reformatt your system if that doesnt work

If he put the system restore disk in and ran it, then the drive was reformatted and the system reinstalled, sorry to say but you're out of luck if this happened. Always make backups of important files.
