I think friendships in high school are tough. The best thing to do is try and befriend people in the same class with you. Then you at least have something in common. Be brave ask someone to have lunch with you. You can also join some kind of club or group. That is another way to make good friends. Don't worry through out life friends come and go. Right now I have two best friends one I met when I was 23years and the other when I was 26years old. I met them at my church group. It is easier to make close friends the older you get I think.

I'm not even gonna try to tell you how. My mom died when I was 12 and ever since then I don't trust anyone. I feel like if you love someone they will go away. Maybe join a club or some kind of church group and meet people who are interested in the same things you are.

Sometimes, the answer lies within.

A cool way to make new friends is to volunteer at a local home for the elderly. Those folks crave visitors like yourself and you'd make lasting friendships with interesting people.

Just be yourself and do not try to impress anyone. That way, when someone does come along, and wants to be friends, they will know the real you and that is who they will be friends with. Be patient. I bet you are a good friend.

having a best friend mesns a lot...its wonderful, but is so hard to find. most of the "friends" betray you behinf your back. And nobody can tell you how to get a friend...they just come, tehy show up and bright your way...

i hate to sound like the mom here...but, my daughter goes thru the same thing... i personally think that she tries too hard...and it pushes people away. maybe look for a different cirlce of friends...friends are soo very important in high school...they will become so much of your memories...maybe look toward old friends (friends you had in jr high or even elementary school)..
