You most likely have a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea or hypersomnia. Ask your doctor to prescribe a sleep study for you where you go to a sleep center and spend the night, usually at a hostpital. I was EXACTLY like what you are describing. They got me a CPAP machine to breathe with during the night and now I feel GREAT during the day and can wake up. Good luck!

Try taking a couple aspirins before bed. The rationale behind this is that aspirin is a blood thinner. When you enter in dream state or REM sleep, portions of your brain take a break. Blood vessels contract in your brain during this state. With reduced blood flow your brain is a little starved of oxygen...so you feel grawgy in the morning. The asprin will make your blood thinner to allow your brain can get more oxygen quicker and the terrible mornings will go easier. I bet you will feel better next morning.

I dont understand? you sleep for 10 hours then you want to sleep some more?...well 14-16 hours a day is called solmenence, could be a prob with thyroid hormones. Are you overweight?, or anything like that. It could also be other things too, if you do extra activities now more than what you used to do before like you said years ago it wasn't like this, so i guess there are many factors that will determine it.

You really need to ask a doctor but here are some possibilities:

1. You are suffering from depression
2. You are not sleeping soundly at night.
3. You need to get more exercise
4. You have radically changed your schedule from what it used to be.
5. You are not eating well
6. You are diabetic or hypoglycemic
