Smoking doesnt make you lose weight. But it is a nerve stimulant, the same as caffeine and alcohol.

Im 27 and quit smoking this year when i found out i was pregnant. But before that i was a smoker for 10 years. In that whole time i NEVER lost weight because i was smoking. But i never put any on either.

I was always taught you put on weight after you quit and in this case i have because im pregnant. But after seeing my ob/gyn about my weight he was surprised to find that i have put on no extra weight except for my baby.

I think the reason so many ppl put on weight after quitting is because they search for something to fit their hands (in this case food) to curb their cravings for nicotine.

Nicotine is not a weight loss supplement and never will be, and ive never met any smoker who has lost weight because of smoking.....(except for 2 relatives of mine who lost weight due to cigarette induced lung cancer...they both died of pneumonia in the last 3 years).

If you want to lose weight, dont cop out by using something unhealthy as the alternative. Go out there and make an effort to make yourself as healthy as you can be - by losing weight with gradual exercise and healthy food.

Does Smoking Help Lose Weight

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

okay, first - you're insane. stop smoking. Anyway, yes, smoking will help you lose weight because smoking speeds up your metabolism. Anyway, being dead at 60 is around the corner. I use to think 60 was "old" when I was like 16. Now I'm 28 and think that 60 is around the corner. trust me, age will fly up on your before you know it. Also, cancer doesn't have a set rate. depending on your genes, you might actually get cancer faster than somebody else. So, you're gambling. Also, very few people live to be 120 years, so that's just dumb. Anyway, yes, smoking increases your metabolism and this is why you're losing weight. If you were smart, you watch what you eat, get regular exercise and stop taking a a cancerous route of solving your problems.

The best way to to lose weight is exercise. There is no magic pill. Smoking will inhibit your ability to do cardio vascular exercise. That in turn will cause you to increase in weight. Another part of the equation is food. You can't eat fast food for lunch daily and lose weight either. It takes some work, but the payoff is huge. Your quality of life will be better. You will find your self esteem better. Your quality of sex life will improve as well.

Bottom line, quiting smoking, eating right and exercising will improve your life PERIOD.

i dont think smoking is one way of losing weight, it depends on the body system of a person, some people smokes but still theyre fat, some people smoke but theyre thin. smoking is dangereous to health. by the way you didnt mention your weight. if you want to lose weight, the safest is exercises or go to gym, but before doin this, consult your doctor, to check your bp, the doctor will give you some pointers and advices. dont dare also to drink any dieting pills, it has side effects. smoking is not the only way to reduce weight. take some fiber fruits and drink a lot of water. fiber fruits will eliminates all the undesirable fats of your body, thats one of the safest way of reducing weight. i did it. like pineapple put it in a blender and blend it , drink at least once or twice a day. hope it will work for you. it works for me.

Smoking decreases appetite (hence all the celeb smokers out there) which will help you lose weight, but most people gain a sufficient amount of weight when they quit because they eat to supplement smoking. However, just because it decreases appetite doesn't mean you should do it. The health risks are too great to smoke for cosmetic purposes.

It makes some people fatter if they trade the smoking vice for eatting. Other than that, I don't think so!!! LOL!

I'm pretty sure smoking dulls your sense of taste and smell, so in that sense it would decrease your appetite. I wouldn't recommend it as a weight loss plan though! Just do some more exercise, and that should help shift a few kilos (or pounds if you're American).

I am not totally sure but when people stop smoking they tend to gain weight. It must be a fixation of having something in their mouth
