A prisoner recently got out of Karlau Prison in Austria by packing himself up in a parcel. Once the mail van was through the gates, he made off on foot, and has not yet been caught.

Can any escape beat that one? Tell me if you know one...

OK true story 18th century petty thief/ pickpocket and apprentice locksmith escaped from maximum security prison on six occasions. The final time he was manacled in a locked cell in complete darkness. He picked all the locks, (some of which had been custom made and have defied locksmiths to this day) escaped from his cell to the roof of the prison, where he then made a free climbing descent of over 100 feet to the alley below. was in local pub drinking, whoring and boasting of his exploits within half hour of prison. So good they had to hang him!

Did someone help him pack himself up. And weren't packages examined for content?
There was on channel 13 the other day where they dug dirt out of the cell with spoons?? and put the dirt into their pants but not too heavy or they would tip over. They mixed it with the sand by pulling on their pants when they went to field. Got out but were caught any way.

I've heard of guys zipping themselves up in morgue bags and when they were taken to be buried they busted out and escaped. Although, I don't know if it's true, that would be pretty cool.
