Red and Green paper chains, string some popcorn, candles are inexpensive and brings warm to any setting. Oil lamps are cheap nowadays and very nice when lit at night. My grandchildren make me a bunch of paper snowflakes every season and I tape them to my windows (they don't look tacky, they're cheap and the kids love it). Small boxes of lights are cheap, easy and can be used in many ways, bowls filled with candy, Christmas toys set out (old teddy bears or anything for Christmas theme), candy canes are still cheap and good for decorating.

Fresh greenery, berries, cones, things from the woods. Arrange in vases or baskets, maybe add a bit of ribbon or tinsel or shiny ornaments. Beautiful and smells good, too!

One year I spray painted pine cones gold and silver and glued them to a styrofoam cone to make a tree. It was quick, easy, and cheap.

Wreaths are easy to make. Just wire greenery to a wire frame, which you can buy for a dollar or two, or make a ring yourself. Then the frame can be reused next year.

Cut snowflakes and hang them from fishing line. Glitter to make them sparkle.

Have fun!

string up some popcorn for the christmas tree. Make old school snowflakes by folding white construction paper in half and cutting shapes in it. Take strips of red and green construction paper, cut them into strips and make a chain by interlocking them. Garland is super cheap. So is tinsel. So are lights.

If there's one in your neighborhood, head over to the Dollar tree! They have everything you can want and need for decorating. I even decorated my bedroom on a dollar budget and it looks great! This is the ideal store for a person who wants to decorate affordably!

I think that you should give Jenn the 10 points! I don't know her at all but I did look at the site she suggested, and it is very cool.
I am going to do some of these.

My sister, niece, and I sit at the kitchen table and make snowflakes together. We drink tea and cocoa and listen to music and cut out dozens of snowflakes. It's fun to do and cheap. We just use white all purpose copy paper.
