I came across this stuff called Clean-A-Finish, a wood soap by Howard Products. It is gentle, non abrasive and breaks down all that oily crud, grease, food, etc that glues itself to your wood cabinetry over time. I told the lady I bought it from that if it worked, I'd tell everyone. I've tried the Mr. Clean, my favorite household cleaner, Greased Lightning, and a few others and they just don't get down to the cabinet without alot of time and energy. Our cabinets were caked with grime when we bought the place and now they look like new. See source below.

I have used all of the remedies listed before me but the very best grease cutter I have ever used is "Awesome"! It's only a dollar at the Dollar Tree Store.

I've used mineral spirits on my wood cabinets, works really well. It was recommended to me by a friend who made cabinets.
