does anyone have any idea why atlantis is so un-symetrical. it seems to look like a snow flake, but no 2 wings of the city are alike. i would assume that the ancients, a highy advanced race would appreciate symatry. two of the wings converg while one of the wings looks like it was only half built. any ideas??

to see some pics of atlantis go to - http://www.thescifiworld.net/wallpapers_stargate_diston.htm

I am sure the producers were looking for a design that has never been done before in science fiction Tv or Movies.

Non the less, if there were such advanced people like the ancients, we really wouldnt have any idea what city design they would use, especially on a flying city. Maybe it would have something to do with some element of science beyond our comprehension - maybe they would just like the beauty of the design itself and were so technologically advanced they could make it work...

Its just a Tv show for entertainment, not meant to be a 100% accurate portrayal of real life stuff, so I wouldnt get worked up over it. Now if they cancel the show... go for the jugular.

As much as I like the show, it is just a show. There are no ancients. Atlantis is just some set designers idea of what looks cool.

I watched seasons 1 and 2 and a couple episodes from season 3...but since I'm a college I haven't been watching the show. Is it any good still? It's a good show...

It's different since it's not symetrical...it looks really cool! :)
