I had the same thing happen- yea, it was closer to when my water broke... but I still had a week left I think... and it happened on a few different occassions, not just once. So you are getting closer, you just have to be patient as hard as it is. I was 41 weeks exactly when I had my son. Also- to help some... I went to the hospital once (was having contractions very close together for a few weeks before I finally delivered), well they sent me home. So, to help you with this so you don't get sent home... don't go unless your water breaks, or unless you are having super strong contractions to where you can't stand, talk, walk... and it takes all you have just to breathe through it. Goodluck and congrats!

If you have been having strong, consistent contractions for days and you haven't dialated, the doc may order putasin for you, which is a drug that helps further along labor (or induces it if you haven't started). if you still do not continue to dialate, you're probably going to need a c-section. and yes, that does sound like your mucus plug, but that doesn't necessarily mean your water is going to break soon. the doc may have to do it at the hospital. that is something you really can not predict. good luck and congrats.

Sounds like a part of your plug came out, it sometimes doesn't come out all at once. The contractions you are experiencing are called Braxton Hicks contractions, and start early in your pregnancy and continue to grow in strength. That they are getting stronger is quite normal. Since you are 39 weeks along, then I would say that your body is doing all the things that it is suppose to to get ready for the birth of your baby. Be patient but be ready. Congratulations!!!!

It sounds like only part of your mucous plug came out to me, I would expect to be seeing some more if I were you. (It isn't always colored mine was always clear). But it doesn't mean your water will break or your labor will start soon. What you are feeling sounds like prelabor or braxton hicks contractions to me. Look for them to get even more intense and consistant in time before you worry about running to the hospital. Although the little ones will eventually get you dialated if they continue. I hope for your sake you have her soon!

I lost mine on Thursday. I'm still pregnant though (my due date is tomorrow!) My water hasn't broken yet... : (
There's really no for-sure answer on this subject. Some women go into labor the day they lose thier mucus plug, some go a week, some go two weeks. Hopefully it will be soon for you. I know how hard it is to wait for labor to start.

as icky because it sounds, it should be diminished white, yellow, eco-friendly or all the above. a lifeless ringer for mucous. Dont freak out though, that's completely well-known. some is often tinged w/a touch of blood. All very well-known...you'd be going into exertions everywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks. good success to you!!

Sounds like it was your plug....Congrats! Hopefully it will be soon that your baby arrives. I lost my plug the day before with my daughter. With my sons I never even saw it. Congrats again and good luck.

It will be soon. If you have contractions and when you sit down those aren't real contractions those are known as fake contractions. When they get stronger and don't stop when you sit they you should start going to the hospital.
