Sad. There was a story up here in New york last night where a father came home and saw something was not right. He went to check on his 9 year old (who just celebrated his birthday the day before) and he was dead. No sign of the wife. He called the police and they went looking for the wife, fearing that maybe whomever it was, killed the kid and kidnapped the wife.
Today, it was found out that the wife-mother of the boy-was the one who killed her son. It turned out earlier today that she called him to ask for forgiveness and then, try to kill herself by jumping in front of a train. She survived, though. Asked why she did it, reports said that the boy was upset about his birthday and, frusterated, the "demons" in her made her kill him. "Demons".
9 years and 1 day of his life is all that boy lived.
Another irony of people who wants to be parents who go through so much s'hit to becoming either pregnant or adoptive parents and people who have kids-only to do this. Always the mentally f'ucked up, backwards people giving birth. Sad, it really is.

Yes, I watched it. I was sad about the whole situation in general, but especially because Oprah had to be so politically correct in her questioning. She obviously has never been severely depressed and just assumed that his wife would never forgive him. Why would she not forgive him? This is one reason I can't stand Oprah.

I did. I'm 25 and work with my parents so we ended up catching it together.. disturbing to say the least.
It's great (and much needed) to get the word out about mental illness, depression, bipolar disorder, etc, etc. Unfortunately in this day and age it takes something as shocking as an otherwise "very loving father" taking the lives of his young, twin daughters to get people's attention.

This is exactly why some people should never be allowed to have children.
