Nana. It's a realistic drama and romance and very good. It's not out in English though, so you'll have to download subtitled episodes from the net. Or you could read the manga.

Nadia is a very good drama mixed with some comedy and action. And a good ammount of Romance as well.
Love Hina as i say before is still one of the best romances i seen. But only in its Manga form. So i guess that wouldnt count. But what WOULD count would be Princess Tutu. Its a pretty decent original story about love and ballet.
Moonphase is a cute little vampire anime. Its quite abit weird. But it has some romance value as well. Same goes for Karin.

I really don't know any romantic series to watch, except maybe "Ah, my Goddess" series, or "Tenchi Muyo". I like both of these because they have action, drama, comedy, and romance. But if you really want to find a good series, try and look at some of the manga comics at a local book store, and see if they have made it into a anime series

Ghost in a shell Stand Alone Complex has romance, drama, action, and subtle humor. It is a must. it can get a bit serious at times and is sometimes hard to follow. I hope you don't like happy endings because this has a very tragic end. Inuyasha's good too. And Love Hina is a Japanese anime. i watched it before with English subtitles. Manga's better.

Victorian Romance Emma. It is a short series about a maid in Victorian England who falls in love with a young nobleman.
Another good one is Koi Kaze, but I will warn you the subject matter is highly controversial and not to everyone's taste.
